Our mission work began in the hearts of several California pastors who had a burden
for beginning a new church in the Castaic community. Their burden was also adopted by
our National Association and we thank God for their vision. Pastor Keith Bartlett, his
wife Janet and their three children arrived in Castaic in December of 1998. They began a
Bible Study in their home in May of 1999. The Bartlett Family was joined by Associate
Pastor Ray Hollifield and his wife Iris in August of that same year. The Bible Study
outgrew their home and in September of 1999 they began holding services in the
Stonegate Recreational Center. During this time all the necessary permits were attained
and we had our “Ground Breaking Ceremony”, December 6, 1999. It took more than a
year to complete the building, but the church opened on Easter Sunday, 2001. In
October of 2001 the church opened Sloan Canyon Preschool and in September of 2002
opened Sloan Canyon Christian Academy with a kindergarten class. We would like to
invite you to come and be a part of a friendly and growing church.
